Why did no one ever tell me my layout here was so butt-ugly? Or maybe it's just the new monitor. Either way, who can I talk to to make me a really spiffy one? Yeah, new monitor. My old one blew up the other day, so I needed a new one. Fine, whatever, easy. Only not, because my beloved 6 year old computer doesn't have a good enough video card to run at a resolution other then ow-my-eyes. All the text everywhere is fuzzy and hard to read. I mean my computer's had issues for awhile: low memory, both cd drives broken, general slowness that you'd expect from a computer 6 years old. And I could totally deal with that. But this... ugh. I don't even know how I'm going to manage homework with this fuzzy text. Dad suggests just getting a new computer because it would be cheaper then upgrading everything, but I really don't want Vista. I like my windows XP. It's all really frustrating. In other sad news, I had to take the fort down :( It's good in a way since I was able to arrange some furniture more to my liking, but that was a cool fort dangit! I only took one picture, I'll see about uploading it later when I'm not hating computer things. Tags: computer trouble, pillow fort Current Mood: angry

The dress! She is finished! ( Check it, yo! )Actually I finished on Sunday but just got the pics this afternoon, courtesy of Sarah. Zomg I'm so excited! I get to see the Jessis and the Lindseys and the Tys in almost TWO DAYS!!! What else is there? Done with Target, Sarah's home so we've been hanging out - we finally finished Slayers Try after a bazillion years and have been doing another round of voice acting for FFIX, which has killed my throat - and I started school today. Had Geology and Japanese, they both look fun. Though Japanese sounds really intimidating, and I'm really annoyed by all the psychotic anime fans who make me embarrassed to admit I watch the stuff too. I hope they get weeded out fast. Tomorrow I've got English and Anthropology, then I dash off to get a haircut so my hair looks fancy for the wedding. I'm happy, all the damage from the last time I dyed it is close to being grown out, so hopefully I can start growing it longer next year. Also, going nuts over pumpkins. I really want to carve! It's that time of year, and I ended up parking next to the patch today and I could see the lovely orange peeking out between the foliage. Well that was a lovely disjointed paragraph. One last random thought, I'm thinking of making this thing friends only soon. Just, yanno. I'll give more warning when I actually get around to it. Tags: pumpkins, school, sewing Current Mood: tired

( Picture of the awesome hat, as requested )I dare you to tell me that is not awesome! Back from my trip. Actually I was back like 2 weeks ago, but I hadn't bothered to post. The short version of the trip: awesome. The slightly lengthier version is that the con was ok, but I spent the latter half hanging out with a really awesome guy so that made the whole con awesome, and we did lots of other fun things like whitewater rafting and went up to the top of Pike's Peak and saw snow. Was a much needed vacation from work. Work which I am quitting in a week, yay! Don't get me wrong, Target's actually a fine place to work, but I can't manage it with the upcoming semester of school where I'm taking 17 units. And a whole list of other small issues that I've ranted to death elsewhere. Most of my time has been sucked up by sewing, since I need to finish my dress for Jessi and Lindey's wedding by next Thursday. It's going well, I finished the shirt a few days ago, and kinda finished the underskirt last night, and I'm going to start on the actual dress part after I type this up. I keep making it needlessly complicated by being stupid though. Stuff like sewing stuff the wrong way so I have to seam rip it and do it over. And not reading the directions right so I waste time cutting out parts I don't need. And today I found I didn't have enough fabric for the lining of the overskirt and bodice so I ran out and bought some stuff that's nicer then the bleh cotton broadcoth I had before so now I'll use that as the main and the broadcloth as the lining. The reason the underskirt is kinda finished is I finished the broadcloth version last night but today bought some of the fancier fabric to use instead so I'll remake it if I have the time. It's actually fairly quick sewing once I stop being an idiot, so I think I can manage it. In other news, I've gotten back into anime thanks to Dylan (the guy I met at the con) but I haven't had time to watch so I am le sad. Also been reading a lot more when I can squeeze it in, which is good. And new icon, cause it makes me smile. Don't know who to credit it to, I'll have to look that up. I felt I should update. Mainly because it's a wonderful form of procrastination. I'm currently supposed to be working on my summer sewing project, a pretty ren faire type dress for Jessi's wedding! Which is still in the cutting out the mockup phase. I'm such a slacker. It'll be done in time for sure though! Speaking of sewing, I have no clue what to do for Halloween this year. I'm not really interested in any of the other MS outfits right now, and I want to do something different anyway. Just have no ideas. Maybe I'll cosplay one of those cosplays I keep wanting to do. I've got a whole list of them, and they're all intimidating. Either way I'm going to enter last years MS costume into this years contest, since I'm still pissed that I was an idiot and missed it. Need to finish making the crown and cape though. I don't know what to make the crown out of though, I may go the paper maché route again. In other news, I have a new DS. It's Metallic Rose, which isn't as cool as Coral Pink, but I didn't want to get the same colour again. I'm happy with it though. Broke it in by finally beating Hard Rock mode of Elite Beat Agents, and went and bought The World Ends With You as a new DS present. I haven't gotten very far in it yet, since I'm still trying to beat Chain of Memories. Ah the ever increasing list of games... need to pick up FFIVDS on Tuesday too. Can't really think of anything else to update on, since my life consists of dork and boring. I should get back to sewing, under the watchful eyes of Captain Picard. Went to the beach yesterday with Shrieker. Was fun, we only stayed about two hours though since it was boring and the sand was like lava. Need to go with more people next time, makes it more fun. After that we crashed Ashleigh's place and jumped in her pool. Then Shrieker left and we watched anime and played Brawl. I have no idea why I'm so good as Wolf. Today I went on a manga run. Picked up the next volumes of La Corda de Oro and Ouran High School Host Club, and picked up the first volumes of Vampire Knight, Tactics, and Trinity Blood. Still waiting on the next three volumes of Good Witch of the West to show up, though I think they hate me, since they shipped volumes 5 and 6 but not 4. Like that does me a lot of good. It feels good to have money so I can buy manga again. And in even more video game ranting... Went and got Deoxys for my two pokemon games, and picked up the first three Devil May Cry games for $30. The set I was looking at on amazon was going for $50+, so I snagged a good deal there. I really know nothing about this series, other then various pretty fanart I've seen around and that there's lots of killing. But for awhile I've been wanting to play a series I can call mine. For the past couple of years I've just been playing games that Ashleigh has recommended. Which is good in it's own way, we can discuss them like the geeks we are. But I want to branch out into other things, play my own games now and then. Still not sure why I picked a series where I'll need to buy a new system for the 4th game though. [Random Linkage Here] - Everyone must now do this quiz! At least everyone who's into pokemon. Or used to be. It's a quiz to see how many of the originals you can name in 12 minutes. I ended up with 115, but I know I could do better. I kept thinking of later pokemon like gligar. Baycon this weekend! It's going to be awesome. I'm finally getting around to finishing my staff from last Halloween's costume ( This costume, this staff) but it's going to be close. I planned on painting tonight and finishing tomorrow, but the paper maché isn't dry yet so I'm gonna have to hold off until tomorrow to paint. Hopefully I can get some better pictures of that costume too, that one doesn't do the it justice. Had an awesome weekend up in Santa Cruz with Sarah the weekend before last. The story to tell is about the moth that ended up stuck in my car on the drive back. That thing was gigantic and terrifying. I apologize to those on my BL who like moths, but they really freak me out, especially when they're in the car with me and I'm trying to drive. We kept trying to get it to fly out the window but it wouldn't, it would just disappear for awhile only to come back and freak us out again as soon as we calmed down. It's a wonder we didn't crash and die. Ashleigh is a wonder, she was awesome at handling the giant moth and keeping me from panicking. I also picked up a crap ton of new manga the other week. I'd stopped buying new series' when I was a bum, so finally I had enough money to splurge. So I've got La Corda de Oro, Ouran High School Host Club, The Good Witch of the West, Peacemaker, and the Slayers novels. Loving all of them, especially the novels. Oh and I finished watching the La Corda de Oro anime over the weekend with Ash. Twas good and fanservicey, I enjoyed it muchly. Need to finish watching the newest boxed set of that guilty pleasure anime I watch (you know... the one with the ninjas... yeah.) Also picked up the first half of Buso Renkin, here's to hoping it'll turn out better then the manga! What else... Video games! Video games are always good. Finished Kingdom Hearts the other week, it was good. Really want to get The World Ends With You when I can scrounge up some extra cash, but my list of games to play is so long already. I also really want to replay Twilight Princess, but I can't find my copy for the life of me. I have this feeling that I may have loaned it to someone, possibly one of my sister's friends, but they've said they don't have it so I'm out of ideas. It's probably lost somewhere in the house... This whole Twilight Princess thing was spawned thanks to getting the soundtrack. I've been trying to sort out my ipod for awhile, since it's only loaded with Final Fantasy music, which while good, gets pretty boring after awhile. So I tracked down a bunch of Zelda soundtracks instead in the process of sorting. Which leaves me with more to sort then I started with, so as you can see I didn't really think this one through. I did end up ripping all my old Nsync CDs though. Good times... So I think that brings this ranting up to date. Oh who am I kidding, my ranting is never up to date! I'll finish by saying I miss chatting with Jessi and should really get to that Astronomy homework before it's too late. Current Mood: chipper Current Music: Wind Waker Soundtrack

I want to write about this dream I had the other night, since I still remember it vividly and it's too funny to not write down. So it started out where I had made this go-cart for a school project. And to get a good grade I had to race it against this other person. Only the race track was the jacuzzi in the backyard, so we could only race one at a time and the other person was going first. So there they were just circling the jacuzzi chest high in water. And after they finished, I couldn't race there for some reason. So we all got in a car and I was in the back seat. In the car we were driving through this windy road in a park, and some parts of it were just logs over water that the car was way to wide to drive over but it did so anyway. And I remember looking out the window and saying, "Hey look, it's the ocean!" and someone else said, "No, that's a lake." So at some point while we're driving we realize we're not going to get to where we're going on time, so in order to compete in the race, I had to eat the go-cart. And I did. And I wasn't able to finish it, as I was left with a small chunk of it and a box of french fries. Then I woke up. Current Mood: pensive

I feel compelled to make an entry, because I haven't in forever. So no I'm not dead. Various things have happened. I quit my job because it sucked for a long list of reasons that I don't want to dwell upon. I then proceeded to become a useless unemployed slacker for the past three weeks. Zipping back to October, my halloween costume rocked, I carved like 5 pumpkins for the night and all that spiffy stuff. Still have a few pumpkins lingering around. I never learn. Somewhere around my birthday I got myself a Wii and have been playing Twilight Princess on and off. Still haven't beaten it as I've been stuck. Somewhere in that time period I beat FF4, which is awesome, but not as awesome as 9. I've been spending the past few days of useless slackerdom playing 6, which so far is also very awesome. Also somewhere in that time period I got an ipod, and have since been to lazy to organize all my dirty pirated music. In news of suck, my dog Lucky died a week or two ago. I haven't really spread the word around on that one much because I feel awkward just telling people up front. It was pretty sudden, she was fine on Friday, Saturday she wasn't eating so we took her to the vet, she stayed there a couple of days and came home on Thrusday with news that she had liver cancer and died at home Saturday night. It hasn't been the same without her. And I went and made myself sad with that. Bugger. Please do me a favor and don't post comments just to say you're sorry. I appreciate the thought, but I really hate those kinds of comments. Current Mood: contemplative

Oh how I wish there was a NC for Maple Story. Hidden-Street isn't cutting it. The forums are fun and all, and I'm gaining a reputation as that weird chick who argues about mage builds, but it just doesn't feel like home. And some of the people there really need to learn the meaning of flame. When I point out flaws in your argument, I am not flaming you. When I prove you wrong, I am not flaming you. When I present evidence to back up my side of the debate, I am not flaming you. I have yet to flame a single person on that site. All I've done is debate. Yes my posts tend to look like essays, that's just the way I type when I post something long. But that doesn't mean I'm flaming you. Flames are unintelligent, pointless, troll spam, and just because I own your ass because I know what I'm talking about doesn't mean I'm flaming you. It's no fun when they fall out of the argument because, "Oh ones! I'm being flamed!" Though victory can be sweet. Current Mood: victorious
